My husband’s cousin is getting married. She lives abroad but is coming back to have the wedding here with her whole family. Naturally, my husband and I were both invited to the ceremony. However, three days before the wedding, my husband’s cousin called him and asked him not to bring me, and he agreed.
Adding to my shock after this sudden request was my devastation when my husband told me that he still planned to go. I asked him, “Where’s your pride? Stand up for your wife!” He stared at me with a dead look in his eyes, then smirked and said, “I’ll go alone. You were uninvited because the groom was your ex-fiancé. My cousin just found out and feels uncomfortable having you there.” I was shocked. I was engaged many years before meeting my husband, and we never bring up my ex since he’s part of the past. I still think the decision to uninvite me is extremely rude, and my husband should defend me instead of planning to attend. It’s not my fault his cousin is marrying my ex. I didn’t do anything wrong here.
What do you think?
