He was found unresponsive by his housekeeper and later declared dead. Although the LAPD investigated, foul play is not suspected.

Just before his death, Simmons shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, thanking fans for their birthday wishes and posting a playful photo with the caption, “Hello gorgeous! Please don’t rain on my parade.”

In March 2024, Simmons revealed his battle with Basal Cell Carcinoma on Facebook. Despite undergoing multiple treatments, he remained a beacon of hope, raising awareness about the disease and emphasizing the importance of embracing life fully.
