Melissa Sloan, a Welsh mother of two, is covered in over 800 tattoos, which she says have become an addiction. Despite her love for body art, she’s faced constant rejection, unable to find work and frequently subjected to verbal abuse in public. Tattoo parlors have refused her, so her partner now gives her “prison-style” tattoos at home.
Sloan’s appearance has made it difficult to secure jobs, and she’s often labeled a “freak” by society. Her children, ages 8 and 10, are aware of the negative attention, but Sloan encourages them to ignore it. Despite the challenges, she remains proud of her choices, hoping her kids will appreciate body art when they’re older.
Though happy with her decisions, her experience highlights the harsh social consequences of extreme lifestyle choices.
