She explained what happened.

I’ve been married to my husband Rob for four years now. His previous wife passed away a year before we met. We dated for two years before getting married. Rob has two kids, Madison (28) and Brett (26). They prefer to call me their dad’s wife instead of their stepmom since I didn’t raise them.

Things have always been tense between us. I’ve tried to be nice and help them when I can, but they’ve been distant. I understand since I come from divorced parents, so I don’t push them.Madison recently got engaged, and we’re happy for her. She asked about a wedding budget, and Rob said he could give $10,000. She wanted more, but Rob is still recovering financially from his wife’s illness.
